Please read YOUR comments about the location of the MAST

Kevin

a disgrace, should not be here

Isobel
Placing a mast in the centre of a town is highly irresponsible, especially in such close proximity to the local school! It is proven that children are more susceptible to the adverse effects of radiation. The concerns of the townspeople must be heeded and their wishes accepted.

Fátima
There must be another place where it could be placed. Far away from the town. Need to to look for it!

Bernadette
My family come from here please do not spoil this beautiful town

Gareth
I don't want my kids growing up with this in the area.

Anne
Don't ruin this beautiful village

James
We visited this beautiful village this year and do not want this mast. My ancesters lived in Ramelton.

Geraldine
No Mast! We have enough Cancer in Ireland.

Lee
Ramelton is changing too much as it is.. don't ruin it totally by putting one of those masts up....

Erica
the mast would not look pretty in Ramelton it is already beautiful

Eileen

I don't want the mast behind my house- not happy about this.

Elaine
The mast is right behind our house and although I am living abroad, my mum is living very close. I am worried about the health issues as well as the property value of our house. It is also a concern that it will effect the way the town looks and this will be a great shame- our town is a heritage town and that should be respected.

Annmarie
This mast is within a short distance of our house on the Letterkenny road. This mast is a major health concern and a major eye sore in this heritage town. Given the choice I would not live near the mast and would never buy a house sited so close to the mast. There is no doubt this mast will not only devalue surrounding property and land, but will make some of the houses unsellable.

Franny
Ramelton is beautiful and so are the people, so leave it like that.
Rameltonians are scattered all over the world and will come together for the wee town.

Claudia
the mast will spoil this beautiful town

Jonathan
There is no need to place the mast near an inhabited area other than to save money in cabling. Eircom should be ashamed.

Angela
please god this won't go up..i don't care what they say there not safe..st marys school is a great school, but i don't feel safe to send my children to it if this goes ahead. and the councillors must of knowing about this..HOW COULD THEY NOT?? they just trying to cover their backs as always.

Mary
We visit Ramelton on a regular basis to see family and have just seen a picture of the mast on this site, it is a crime to allow this mast to be placed here, it not only looks bad but also has obvious health risks to everyone around it. It would ruin Ramelton if it is allowed, just look at the anger and worry this is causing now, and if it goes ahead it will surely create a lot worse! Please just put it somewhere else! Somewhere more remote, where there are no residential buildings or schools etc.

Again the "Brain Dead" who fail to govern the vested commercial interests have got it simply wrong. This mast need to be no closer than 120 meters from any dwelling, school, creche, old folks home or other public assembly space such as a GAA pitch. And the effects of TETRA pulsing at a known ECG frequency on epileptics is a formula for disaster. Plus it will be yet another "blight on the landscape". You need to ask is your mast and the hazard it potentially represents really necessary!

Sean
The location of this proposed mast is most unsuitable. Common sense would tell one that Eircom find another location and let the people of Ramelton live without fear for their health and the future health of their children.

David
good luck

Dónall
We moved here because there was no mast...

Conor
From what i hear it's about time the politicians started listening to the residents of Ramelton and stopped trying to fix this without their support.

Emer

This Mast Is Beside My School And Might Give CANCER So There Yah Go

Jean
While I know the importance of moving on with new technology I am concerned at the decision to place this mast here just on my doorstep. My main concern would be of a health risk it may impose. The location is just too near the school, old people's home, church and housing estates. It would also have a detrimental visual impact on the approach road into a heritage town. I know how important it is to upgrade telecommunations but I am sure there are more suitable sites for such a structure in the outskirts of the town.

David
Probably one of the closest residences to the proposed mast is the Presbyterian Manse in Ramelton occupied by Rev. Amanda Best and family. The Ramelton Presbyterian Church Committee wish to register our strong objection to this unsightly and potentially hazardous structure being located at this site.

Kate
This is again a complete lack of respect for the health and welfare of a community and its people.

Brian
Live two minutes away from proposed location of mast and very concerned about this project.

Frank
Surely this mast could be put somewhere else. There was one put up at my sisters at dooish she wasn't able to within 100 yards of that mast and she got headaches. So come on Telecom get a grip and put it some where its not going to harm anyone so i hope that things work out for the people of Ramelton for they are nice people thanks

Ciara
IT IS A TOTAL DISGRACE TO HAVE SOMETHING SO UGLY AND SO DANGEROUS SO CLOSE TO SCHOOL, HOUSES, NURSING UNIT AND ROAD. SO MUCH FOR SAFETY AND SO MUCH FOR TRYING TO HELP OUT PEOPLE. THE STRESS THAT THIS IS CAUSING IS SO UNFAIR. PLEASE TRY TO FIND A BETTER PLACE SO IT IS NOT INFRINGING ON THIS HERITAGE TOWN.

Christel
The views of the town will be demolished.

Monika
This mast will ruin the beauty and lovely Heritage town for ever! Please find another location!!!

Denise
No to mast!

Katrina
This mast should not be allowed to be erected so close to the school & nursing home, it would be a contradiction to have a structure like this in Ramelton which is supposed to be a "Heritage Town".

Peter
This is typical, phone companies not caring about communities. We are fighting the same injustice in Clevedon North Somerset. They are using a planning loophole to put one up 3 years after it was refused! Good luck with your fight

Bernadette
Please find another location. Ramelton is surrounded by open spaces. Why spoil so many people's outlook and perhaps harm their health?

Anamaria
I wasnt aware of this mast being bult..... I hope something can still be done........ surely an alternative position could be found.

David
The way this was pushed thru planning is a disgrace.

Roisin
I hope we get enough signatures to stop this happening in our lovely wee village.

Marie
Very concerned for the health of my children. Considering removing them from the school. Its ridiculous erecting a mast beside 2 schools, a home for the elderly and a built up residential area.

Martha
This matter is obviously a case of backhanders lining the pockets of our councillors and ignores the health and well being of our residents.

Sinead
PEOPLE OVER PROFIT!

Niamh
I regularly visit friends in this town and I am appalled at the actions of Eircom and the county council putting money before the health of people and the scenic views of the village

Cecilia
My nephew attends this school and it is a disgrace that the council are willing to put the children and people of Ramelton at risk and all for what!!!!!!!!!!!

Roland

In Germany you're not allowed to erect masts close to schools because permanent radiation harms development of nerves. There are hills enough where they can set up a mast.

Shane
I would think there would be a hundred and one better places to put a mast other than where they are going to put it !!!

SIOBHAN
DOES DONEGAL COUNTY COUNCIL HAVE NO RESPECT FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE AREA, BY GIVING PLANNING PERMISSION THEY HAVE INDIRECTLY COMPRISED THE HEALTH OF THAT POPULATION. THE PEOPLE VOTED IN THE MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL TO PROTECT, AND IMPROVE THE ENVIRONMENT WE LIVE IN

AMANDA
IT IS SUCH A DISGRACE THAT IN 2009 WE ARE PUTTING CHILDREN IN HARMS WAY.THE MAST SHOULD BE MOVED TO AN AREA THAT IS CLEAR OF CHILDREN. WE ALL KNOW THE HIGH INCIDENCE OF CANCER IN DONEGAL AND HAVING DANGEROUS PHONE MASTS NEAR BY CAN ONLY COMPOUND THE PROBLEM.

Ann
dreadful, irresponsible plans should be shelved at once

Sally
Terrible place for the mast - must not be allowed to happen!!!

Kate
I live beside the proposed site, and strongly oppose a mast being put here on the main thoroughfare into the picturesque village. It is right beside the school, and there was no word about this before the recent local elections!

Kenneth
Why destroy one of Donegal's most serene and magical treasures

Karin
PLEASE! No mast in this area! There are enough hills around Ramelton!

Anne
Grandchildren attend St. Mary's National School. Horrified at close proximity of this ugly mast to vulnerable members of the society namely, the schoolchildren and the elderly in Ramelton nursing unit..Had enjoyed stays in and around Ramelton area but if this mast is allowed will be suggesting to my family to relocate.

Silke
Don't ruin the health and the beauty of Ramelton

Kevin
The placing of mast in that position is madness.
What are planners and Eircom thinking?

Fiona
I think you (Eircom) need to come up with another location for the mast... and meet the local people with a solution

Jens
Please think about it, if you want such a mast near your children. Unless the HEALTH risk is there
