Subject: The Heritage Town of Ramelton needs your help!
I am contacting you in relation to the erection of a 20 M Eircom mast in Ramelton.
The local residents and Parents of the Children at the school are very concerned.
There is a very informative piece on www.ramelton.net please look at!
We have contacted the Ministers for the Environment, Communications, Education and Health.
We have received just a standard reply.
We have had three Articles in the Tirconaill Tribune and one in the Letterkenny Post.
We have an Online Petition on the www.ramelton.net website and we also have one circulating in the town.
Eircom have applied for Planning in 7 areas including Ramelton that we can find.
2 of these have been refused planning even after it was appealed to An Bord Pleanála.
These were in Kilcar planning reference 07/21326 and Cloghanmore ref 07/60719.
Please look at Planner Recommendations.
We feel there has been inconsistencies in the Planners Recommendations and want to know why the Planner in Ramelton did not seem to adhere to the:
County Donegal Development Plan 2006-2012
Refer to Section 2.8 of Appendix A (Technical Standards) info on the proximity to Schools, Residential Areas, visual Amenity etc.
The Telecommunications Antennae and Support Structures-Guidelines for Planning Authorities 1996.
3.2 ” sites besides schools which might give rise to local concerns "
4.3 “ visual impact”
Ramelton is a Heritage Town and are this weekend holding their 40th Annual Festival which brings in great crowds. We do not need a 20 m Mast effecting the visual approach to the Village.
We do not need our houses Devalued. Ramelton's National School has got disadvantaged Status.
We do not need to be worrying about the possible health implications this may have on our children.
We are having another public meeting on Tuesday 14th July at 9 o' Clock and I am urging you to attend.
Does technology and money have to ruin this beautiful and vibrant village?
I thank you for reading this email and please consider helping us out!
If you like to sign an
against the location of the mast please sign here
Every help and support in this matter
would be very much appreciated.
