Ramelton > Festival/Events > Lennon Festival 2009

How it all Began
A group of young entertainers from the town represented Ramelton in the 1970 Top Town Talent Contest whcih consisted mainly of acting, dancing, singing and music. It is generally accepted that Ramelton presented the top performance of the whole contest in their round defeat of a very good Fanad. However, they were defeated by an in-form Letterkenny - who ran and won the contest - in the semi final.
Not daunted they selected an executive committee to organize a festival which would coincide with the Scotch Fairs. Sub-committees were formed and thenceforth it was Diligence working hand in hand with Enthusiasm, Assiduity and perseverence have eventually borne fruit and now, on the eve of the festival is brimming with wholesome entertainment.
